Off Script by Kate Watson7/6/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() But as Emma comes in close contact with the darker side of Hollywood, she starts to question the glamorous world she's always known and realises her role in it needs to change - if she can find the courage to go off script. Not only is Liam her former best friend's older brother, but he's gorgeous, smart, and has no problem pointing out the (totally exaggerated) flaws in Emma's plans. Emma's plans start to unravel, however, when professional soccer player Liam Price re-enters her life. And because Emma knows best, she's sure that steering Brittany onto the right path is all she needs to do to make her a star - even if Brittany doesn't know it yet. ![]() When Emma's search for an assistant leads her to the wide-eyed Brittany Smith, Emma sees the big screen in the girl's future. The summer after her first year of college, teen starlet Emma Crawford returns home to Manhattan to prepare for the role of a lifetime - and play career matchmaker to her friends. Emma gets a Hollywood-tinged, feminist update in this funny and fierce retelling of Austen's classic about a well-intentioned but tragically misguided matchmaker. Teen starlet Emma Crawford loves playing matchmaker almost as much as she loves the spotlight, but when Emma comes in close contact with the darker side of Hollywood, she starts to question the glamorous world she's always known and realises her role in it needs to change - if she can find the courage to go off script. ![]()

Phoenix unbound by grace draven7/6/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() Gilene is a fire-witch, the only one in her small village, so every year when slavers from the Empire come to gather tithes for their Rites of Spring, she casts an illusion spell to change her appearance and marches toward the capital city. She weaves captivating, magical romances set in complex, detailed worlds.Īnd Phoenix Unbound is this author’s best work to date.įor Gilene, spring was neither the season of rain nor of planting, but of suffering. If you were to ask me to make a list of my favorite fantasy romances of all time, Grace Draven would have four or five titles in my top ten. This was probably my most anticipated book this year. “I will conquer all of the Empire to bring you back.” “I can’t,” she murmured, still half asleep. “Stay with me, Gilene,” he whispered in her ear. ![]()

Before and after by judy christie7/6/2023 ![]() ![]() TCHS sent more than 5,000 children to eager would-be parents from coast to coast, many of whom were too old or otherwise ineligible to adopt children through traditional routes. Protected by Memphis politicians and judges, Tann ruthlessly swept up choice babies from the docks, streets and backwoods of Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi. “Piecing together stories of siblings who struggled for decades to find one another brings to my mind those movies where the hero absolutely, positively refuses to give up,” Christie writes. Co-authors Lisa Wingate and Judy Christie have collected some of those stories in "Before and After: The Incredible Real-Life Stories of Orphans Who Survived the Tennessee Children's Home Society."Īfter reading Wingate’s 2017 novel based on Tann’s activities, "Before We Were Yours," Connie Wilson, one of the TCHS adoptees, emailed the author with a stunning idea: “Have you considered a reunion?” Intrigued, Wingate pulled her friend and fellow author Christie into the project, and the three women began searching for Wilson’s fellow adoptees. Less familiar, but equally heartbreaking, are the long searches many of those adoptees have made for their birth families. ![]() The horrors of the Tennessee Children’s Home Society - Georgia Tann’s adoption mill that flourished in Memphis from 1924 until Tann’s death in 1950 - are now well known. ![]() ![]() Watch Video: Man with 1,500 'Harry Potter' books to auction part of collection ![]()

Columbus day craig alanson7/6/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() What a shit job that was, I was happy to be home in the States. Taking a break after my battalion got rotated home from peacekeeping duty in Nigeria. It was a Monday morning in early October, the Columbus Day holiday in America, I was home on leave from the Army, visiting my folks. For me personally, when a Ruhar combat transport dropped out of the sky and skidded across a potato field, outside my tiny hometown in northern Maine, that was when I became Officially Alarmed. ![]() When power plants, refineries, factories and other industrial sites around the planet started getting pounded from orbit with hypersonic railgun darts, we were shocked. When the morning sky twinkled, with what we later learned were Ruhar warships jumping into high orbit, we were curious. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when we humans only got killed by each other. There we were, innocently drifting along in the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. ![]() Every country had a name for the day the Ruhar attacked the common name that stuck, after a while, was Columbus Day. ![]()

First blood by david morrell7/6/2023 ![]() ![]() Rambo doesn’t die either, the number of sequels probably told you that. Of course you wanted him to that’s the great part about watching action films, you can delight in the slaughter of random people and not feel guilty. The only person who actually died was the cop who fell out of the helicopter. Rambo never actually killed anyone in the first film. ![]() One movie that stands out from all those films is First Blood, it’s not set during the war but after, when a veteran comes how and gets harassed and abused by the people he thought he was fighting for. You would have thought America would have learned from this and stayed away from Afghanistan, another country that has never been conquered. Despite America being the superior war machine they couldn’t decisively defeat the Vietnamese and it was pressure from public outrage that ended it. They know how America tried to intervene in the spread of Communism and went to war with a country that had never lost a conflict with an invading force. Thanks to the plethora of war movies set there almost everyone knows about the Vietnam war. ![]()

George martin a feast for crows7/5/2023 ![]() I do not examine that Martin experiences this “magnificent inspiration” similarly as various other amazing artisans, yet this moment around he shows up to have actually been unable (or even more possible, resistant) to tip much from that disposition to experience the painful treatment of changing. At the factor when George Martin guards the posts ponement, longer- than- prepared for sizes, as well as the obviously unnecessary side- tales, he is fascinated with mentioning Tolkien by claiming that “the tale considers itself” (or something to that result). ![]() What I believe HAS ACTUALLY altered is business weight that has actually been placed on Mr Martin, accompanied (I favor not to state it) a creating over- liberality which has actually been allowed him. Regardless of, A Feast For Crows is unqualified the requirement of this first 3 in the plan. ![]() Mr Martin is an amazing desire author, as well as I do not assume that has actually altered. ![]() |
